There is a place in Latvia where a house lies by the very edge of the sea. An old house. The people used to sail out to the sea and build boats. Those were big boats, and the brave people crossed the Atlantic in these boats. That was a long time ago. Still longer ago, there were birds who also knew this place. ”Why?”, you will ask. That is a mystery. In the fall, just before flying away for the winter, they flew by this house. Amazingly, right there the formation of birds changed their direction and headed out to the sea. For centuries, this has continued unchanged and it still does today.

The birds know where they need to go. They know their crossroads... (Janis Bruveris)
